El Cerro Grande began as an idea to provide authentic quality Mexican food and exceptional, friendly service in the Mexican town of Degollado, Jalisco. A small community located in the valley of a mountainous region in the middle of the state of Jalisco.

El Cerro began its venture in the United States in 1991 with the grand opening of its first location in Wilmington, N.C. Since then, El Cerro Grande has expanded to three stores in just the Wilmington area, two in the Jacksonville, and about ten more scattered up and down the coast of North and South Carolina.

The goal for El Cerro Grande is to continue to dish up quality authentic Mexican cuisine and service while concentrating efforts to expand and bring the El Cerro Grande experience to a town near you.
